Guardian Home Program

Root & Branch developed a Guardian Home Program because we believe our breeding dogs deserve to be raised in loving, forever homes throughout their breeding career. Guardians raise and train a Root & Branch pup and when he/she retires, they will remain with you as your family pet. If you would like to become a guardian, please read on to learn more and help determine if it will be a good fit.

What does it look like to be a Guardian?

Guardian families will receive a gorgeous Root & Branch pup at no cost to you. We retain the breeding rights to the dog and will require access to it throughout the year for breeding, testing, and socialization. You get the joy of raising him/her while watching darling puppies get sent off to other loving homes.

For the Mamas (Bernese Mountain Dog or Bernedoodle):

• she will stay with us 1 week before her litter is due and until the puppies are fully weaned at around 6 weeks

• we cover all costs associated with breeding, birthing, and raising her puppies

• guardian must live within a 2 hour drive of Root & Branch homebase

• most females retire after 4 litters

For the Papas (Miniature Poodle):

• we will require access to him at all times for reproductive related veterinary appointments

• guardian must live within 1 hour of drive of Root & Branch homebase
